Concrete Curb Installation Process
Thinking about installing concrete curbing? Here’s a quick guide to help you understand the process from start to finish.
Preparation Steps
Marking Utilities – Customers should mark sprinkler heads, landscape lighting, pet containment wires, and utility lines near the installation area.
Keeping Existing Edging – Current edging can stay in place until the new curbing is dry to prevent unnecessary obstructions.
Please clean up after all pets — We'll be working close to the ground, and a tidy yard helps us work safely and efficiently.
Mowing is recommended — A freshly cut lawn makes the installation process smoother.
Truck Access Requirements - We need at least 50 feet of street frontage at the property where work will be done. The driveway may be blocked for 4-6 hours, so please move any vehicles you'll need before we arrive.
Installation Steps
Clearing the Area – Any necessary adjustments or obstructions are addressed before installation begins.
Digging the Trench – A 2-inch deep, 10-inch wide trench is cut, removing grass to create space for the curb.
Mixing Concrete – Concrete is mixed on-site with added fiber for extra durability and transported via wheelbarrow to the curbing machine.
Laying the Concrete – The curbing is shaped and installed using specialized equipment.
Adding Control Joints – Placed strategically to help prevent cracking, especially from tree roots.
Sealing the Curbing – Sealed the same day to protect against weather and preserve color for up to a year.
This efficient process ensures a durable, attractive curb with minimal disruption!
